Lucas Hopson, LCDC, is the Detox Lead/Utilization and Billing Liaison at Into Action Recovery Centers and has been working in addiction and mental health treatment since 2020. He began his career in outpatient counseling before joining Into Action Recovery in February 2021 and now focuses on supporting clients during the first—and often most overwhelming—stage of recovery. Lucas works with a trauma-informed mindset, understanding that many people enter detox carrying more than substance use alone. His priority is helping clients feel safe, respected, and supported as their bodies and minds begin to stabilize.
Lucas’s approach is calm, compassionate, and grounded in structure. He uses Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to meet clients where they are while offering clear guidance, honesty, and encouragement. He believes recovery doesn’t require perfection—just willingness, time, and support. One of the greatest gifts of his work is watching clients move from detox through the end of residential treatment and seeing the meaningful change that can happen in a relatively short period of time when physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs are addressed together. Lucas values both tradition and progress, drawing from time-tested recovery principles while staying current through ongoing education and involvement with industry-specific professional organizations. When clients struggle to believe in themselves, he is willing to hold that belief for them until they are ready to carry it on their own. Outside of work, Lucas enjoys time with his family, outdoor photography, learning about almost anything, and reading and writing—interests that help keep him grounded and present with the clients he serves.
