I joined the Into Action team as a Program Counselor in 2017, eventually became Executive Director in 2021, and am now the company’s President/Executive Director. I am responsible for the overall strategic and operational leadership of our facilities. Driven by personal experience, I have a deep-seated desire to help others overcome challenges and improve their lives. I particularly focus on strengthening advocacy, reducing stigma, and promoting understanding of mental health.
I graduated from San Jacinto College in Houston, TX, with an Associate of Applied Science in Mental Health Substance Abuse Counseling. I was honored with the Outstanding Student of the Year Award by the San Jacinto Mental Health Services Program and acknowledged for demonstrating outstanding academic performance. I am skilled in motivational interviewing, which is a method that helps clients resolve ambivalent feelings and increase their internal motivation toward sobriety. I am also an advocate of client-centered therapy, which empowers the client to take an active role in their treatment to achieve their goal of long-term recovery.
