Addiction recovery treatments and activities at Into Action Recovery Centers
Led by a licensed chemical dependency counselor (LCDC), clients benefit from treating challenges including anxiety, personality and substance disorders, with a focus on understanding how symptoms appear in everyday life. Our LCDC team assists the client in identifying their negative behavior patterns and the resulting consequences and then coaches them on how to modify their behaviors to bring about positive consequences.
Clients relate to normative-based feedback in these interview sessions, helping LCDCs evaluate each client’s motivation as they change their behavior based on positive input.
Relapse Prevention Education & Counseling
Working with cognitive-behavioral techniques, clients are trained on relapse prevention activities. They learn to identify and prevent high-risk situations as they readjust into their real-world environment.
Clients attend an external class led by a therapist on the subject of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and the way it affects substance abuse. This intense 3-day seminar covers addiction, abandonment, abuse, grief, and trauma issues.
We work with clients in counseling sessions to identify and better manage or reconcile troublesome differences and repeating patterns of distress in their relationships with family members, partners, employees or employers.
Life Skills Training
Life skills training helps each individual with the demands and challenges of everyday life. Practicing life skills leads to qualities such as self-esteem, sociability, and tolerance that clients may have lost while coping with their disease. This training prepares the client for their next phase of recovery.
Coping Skills Education & Counseling
Clients attend meetings to learn coping skills that relate to personal and interpersonal challenges, such as stressors that present themselves as challenges. Trained professionals assist clients with personal counseling as needed.
We offer a weekly training in mindfulness and stress reduction led by a psychotherapist. These experiences are designed to help each participant learn to bring awareness to the present moment. In doing these exercises, clients bring more focus and attention to their lives and their recovery.
Aftercare & Discharge Planning
Each client works with counselors and formulates their appropriate aftercare and next steps, including making plans for their treatment, housing, work, and self-care. Clients will then have the tools necessary to reintegrate into their everyday lives.
